§ 4-42. Powers and duties of peace officers.

All peace officers, either county or township, are hereby appointed inspectors of licenses, and in addition to their several duties as peace officers are hereby required to examine all places of business and persons in their respective beats or territory liable to pay a license fee or tax, and to see that such licenses are taken out. They shall have and exercise the power:

(a)

To make arrests for the violation of any of the provisions of this article;

(b)

To enter free of charge at any time, any circus, tent show or other exhibition subject to be licensed hereunder, and demand the exhibition of such license.
